Billy Black is a gay young boy who appears in Season 3's Write 'Em Cowboy and Steve Williams' biggest fan during his brief career as a gay country singer. It is revealed he was going to commit suicide because he has always been bullied for being gay until he heard his music. Inspired by this, Steve writes a new song dedicated to him, but because Steve sings lyrics like "I'm so sorry Billy Black, people suck" and "It's not your fault Billy Black, people stink" and "Don't worry Billy Black, people are animals" it gets misinterpreted as a hate speech against black people, thus accidentally infuriates his gay fans. Billy is set on fire as a gay riot ensues.
As Denzel watches Billy burn, he complains "Why couldn't that kid have been named Billy Mexican"?
